Parking is free if you drive. The last tour ends at 3 pm but check website for change of times. The one not to miss is the "last post ceremony" time is 1655hrs. You get to learn a bit the Anzac spirit.
Wonderful place to visit. Feel humble & grateful to those involved in war & peacekeeping. Displays are world class and the kids really enjoyed finding out about what great -granddad did in the war.
One of the best museums on war history in the world. A lot of historical artefacts and other primary sources on all the wars and peacekeeping missions Australia has been in.
Poppy's, the cafe at the Australian War Memorial is a great place to start or finish your experience. Coffee and good was Fabius and quick to the table and service was great too
Awesome. Did the tour which gave us a good basis for seeing more. On problem was we never made it back. If you want to visit give yourself 3+ hours to explore.
There's a tip about skippong the tour and wandering yourself. While I agree, if you manage both it's even better. Two different experiences, with their own benefits.
